From Staff reports
The League of Women Voters Leelanau County will host a panel discussion on “The Migrant/Seasonal Worker Community: Inside Leelanau County” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, in the lower level of the Government Center in Suttons Bay.
A local perspective on the challenge of sustaining and securing skilled agricultural workers will be offered by panel members who interact or work with our primarily Hispanic migrant/seasonal worker community. Learn what may encourage this needed workforce of 1,500 migrant/seasonal workers and their families to come to Leelanau County, the northern most point in the migrant stream. The public is invited. Light refreshments will be served starting at 6:30 p.m.
