Wings of Wonder releases owls

Wings of Wonder invites the public to its next raptor release at Little Traverse Inn, north of Glen Arbor on M-22. Three young Eastern Screech Owls will be released on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. A trio of attendees will have the opportunity to do the actual release.
The Inn will offer tasty specials throughout the evening with proceeds being donated to Wings of Wonder. The celtic band, Swallowtail, will provide lively Irish reels, jigs and hornpipes from 7-9:30 p.m. Donations will also be collected. For a donation of $20 you can enter your name into the release challenge. Three winning names will be pulled from the “hat” at 8 p.m. These winners will be outfitted with handling gloves and will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hold ‘their’ owl, name it, get their picture taken and then release it.
