Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear holds Port Oneida Run

From staff reports

The 13th annual Port Oneida Run—an event of the National Park’s nonprofit partner Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear—will take place on Saturday, August 2. The run starts and ends at the big red barn and lawn area at the Olsen Farm/Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center, 3164 W. Harbor Hwy, (M-22) Maple City, MI, just four miles north of Glen Arbor.

Registrants have the option of one of three spectacular courses: Homesteaders Hilly Half Marathon, a new course this year that goes up past Pyramid Point trailhead and down to Bohemian Road; Tiller’s 10K combines trail running, gravel back roads, and pavement; and Heritage Flat and Fast 5K, a popular route running out and back on the Heritage Trail and Basch Road in Port Oneida. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome on the 5K.
