Glen Arbor Art Association announces Readers’ Theater cast selection for “A Christmas Carol”

The Glen Arbor Art Association announced the cast for its December Readers’ Theater production of the play “A Christmas Carol”. All of the performers and staging assistants are locals to Leelanau County. Several of the cast members will play multiple roles, including four students from Glen Lake School.

• Ebenezer Scrooge will be played by Teddy House of Maple City
• The Ghost of Christmas Past and Mrs Cratchit will be played by Mary Sharry of Empire
• Bob Cratchit, Apprentice Ebenezer and Brokers #1 & #3 will be played by Mike Duwe of Glen Arbor
• The Narrator and Belle will be played by Susan McConnell of Lake Leelanau
• Fred, Fezziwig, Brokers #2 & #4, and Belle’s Husband will be played by John Rentenbach of Maple City
• Ms Howell and Janet will be played by Barbara Knapp of Cedar
• The Ghost of Christmas Present and the Schoolmaster will be played by Ron Smith of Glen Arbor
• Ms Jeeves will be played by Karen Ford of Maple City
• Young Ebenezer, Belinda and Caroline will be played by Haley Hutchens of Cedar
• Martha, Young Thomas and Boy will be played by Mahrle Siddall of Empire
• Fan and Young Joseph will be played by Millie Foglesong of Maple City
• Tiny Tim and the Beggar will be played by Gretel Foglesong of Maple City
• Marley and The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come will appear from the afterworld

Teddy House is also the assistant director, with her husband, Robert House handling the lighting duties. Directing the play will be Ron Smith, who also doubles as the sound designer and technician.

Dates for the performances will be December 11, 12 and 14, at the GAAA, 6031 S. Lake Street in Glen Arbor. As always, the seats are free, are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with reservations possible in advance at GlenArborArt.org. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday & Friday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
