The Leelanau School, the private school located just north of Glen Arbor on 1 Old Homestead Rd, invites the community to join in an evening of holiday cheer on Friday, Dec. 13, from 7:30-9:30 pm. Stop by the school’s auditorium for music and sing-along at 7:30, a dramatic reading of A Christmas Carol at 8 by local actors Don Kuehlhorn and Drew Gibson, followed by cookies and punch at 9. The event is free, but reservations are requested by visiting leelanau.org/scrooge.

Traverse City songwriter Steve Clark and a lively band of acoustic musicians are bringing an original version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to Leelanau and Benzie counties this holiday season. Concerts are scheduled for the Old Art Building in Leland, the Oliver Art Center in Frankfort, and the Willowbrook Mill in Northport.
In the spirit of the Christmas season, the Glen Arbor Players will present A Christmas Carol on December 8-10 at the Glen Lake Church, 4902 West Macfarlane in Glen Arbor. Incorporating the festivity of the season and the spirit of redemption, Charles Dickens’ classic tale has never been out of print since its release in 1843. The novel proved very effective in promoting renewed enthusiasm for the joys of Christmas in both Britain and the United States.
The Glen Arbor Art Association announced the cast for its December Readers’ Theater production of the play “A Christmas Carol”. All of the performers and staging assistants are locals to Leelanau County. Several of the cast members will play multiple roles, including four students from Glen Lake School.
