Cottage Book Shop holds gigantic book signing, Aug. 2
This is a unique opportunity to meet more than 20 local authors at one time in one location, in the Pine Patch at the Cottage Book Shop in Glen Arbor (rain location across the street at Bethlehem Lutheran Church). On Friday, Aug. 2 between 2 and 4 p.m. the best of mystery, history, essay writers and artists will gather.
Essay writers Mike Delp (As If We Were Prey), Jack Driscoll (World a Few Minutes Ago), Anne-Marie Oomen (American Map), Kathleen Stocking (Letters from the Leelanau), Bob Butz (Uncrowed Place) and memoir/crime writer Mardi Link (Bootstrapper and Isadore’s Secret) will greet you.
Twenty-four stories of local people are in Scott Craig’s book, The Story Next Door. Nature writer Jerry Dennis and illustrator Glenn Wolff (It’s Raining Frogs and Fishes and Windward Shore) share a long list of mutual titles. Cari Noga writes about families with autism in Piping Plover and Sparrow Migrations. Laura Getz will bring both her newest Beach Devotions.
History writers John Mitchell, (Grand Traverse: The Civil War Era), Tom Campbell (Fighting Slavery in Chicago), Chris Byron and Tom Wilson (Vintage Views of the Michigan Pike), Nancy Kenney (The Lost Submarine) and Tom VanZoeren with his Port Oneida family histories.
Be thrilled by mystery writers Aaron Stander (Death in a Summer Colony), Robert Wangard (Deceit) and Richard Trevae (Leelanau Stories).
Artists Ellie Harold (7 Habits of Deeply Fulfilled Artists), Hank Feeley (Painting the Magic of Sleeping Bear Country), JoAnne Wilson (Walks with Maggie), and Lois Beardslee (Lies to Live By) will be present.
