Leland Old Art Building hosts Unfixed author

Upcoming Event

The Leland Township Public Library, the Old Art Building, The Suttons Bay-Bingham District Library and Bay Books, invite the community to a literary evening featuring author Kimberly Warner in conversation with her uncle, acclaimed Michigan filmmaker Rich Brauer. The event will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Old Art Building, in Leland. The evening will begin with a wine reception at 5:30 pm, followed by a conversation at 6.

Leland Township Public Library is hosting a special two-part series to address food access challenges in our community, as part of the Leland Library Summinars. These events will explore some local efforts that are being made to ensure everyone has reliable access to healthy, nutritious meals. Session 1 features “From the Heart – 5Loaves2Fish” on Tuesday, July 23, at 10 am.

Leelanau Historical Society hosts historian Anna-Lisa Cox

Upcoming Event

The Leelanau Historical Society and Leland Township Public Library will host acclaimed historian and Harvard fellow, Dr. Anna-Lisa Cox, at the Leland Old Art Building on July 19 at 6:30 pm. A donation of $10 is suggested at the door. Seating is limited, registration required. Click here to register. Cox’s lecture is titled “A Free and Independent State: Leelanau County and its Connection to the American Revolution and the Struggle for Freedom and Equality in Early America.” She is a non-resident fellow at The Hutchins Center for African and African American Research Harvard University.

Leland Library hosts “The Crib Shines On”

Upcoming Event

The Leland Township Public Library and the Leelanau Historical Society are collaborating to host a program called “The Crib Shines On” on Thursday, June 1, at 1 pm at the library. This program, featuring the North Manitou Light Keepers, aims to shed light on the history of The Crib, an iconic offshore lighthouse, as well as the ongoing restoration project undertaken by the North Manitou Light Keepers.
