The Leelanau County Planning Commission is working to update the Leelanau General Plan, a county-wide plan regarding future development and land use in the county. The Commission is asking for your opinion on various topics such as: housing, jobs, economic development and recreation.

The M-22 Challenge, which will be held for the 10th time on Saturday, June 9, is a multi-discipline event that combines running, cycling, and paddling in a 22-mile race.

Ronald Leroy Bialy returned in mid-April to Glen Arbor to be new head chef at the Manor on Glen Lake, 32 years after he worked at Le Bear restaurant (which is now Le Bear Resort). This spring the Manor has new floors, new amenities, and an enhanced American bistro-style menu that focuses on ribs, steaks, specialty potatoes, salads and homemade dressings.

The meals, the donations, the hugs kept arriving—from neighbors, from friends, from the community at large. The door never stopped opening and the telephone never stopped ringing for an immigrant family who has lived in Leelanau County for nearly two decades but faced the specter early this spring of being torn apart by the politics of U.S. immigration enforcement.

Leelanau Clean Water will host an event titled “Leelanau Water Quality Symposium: Exploring the health of our lakes and streams. What 28 years of data show us and where emerging technology can take us” on Wednesday June 13.
