Leland Old Art Building hosts Art of the Garden Exhibit

News

From staff reports

The Old Art Building in Leland will celebrate the arrival of spring with an art show and interactive coloring sessions by local artist, Richard Stocker.

The Leelanau Community Cultural Center (LCCC) and Little Garden Club of Leland are co-sponsoring an exhibit and sale of “Art of the Garden” at the Old Art Building. The show will run June 24-27 from 11 am–5 pm. This exhibit will feature artwork of the flora and fauna of gardens in a variety of mediums.

A new feature this year, an artist will paint onsite at each of the gardens along the tour route. Their paintings will be on display at the Old Art Building as part of the exhibit.

Proceeds will be split between the LCCC and Little Garden Club. These funds will support the LCCC by contributing to its many programs, classes, and events and for the Little Garden Club to fund the grants offered to local organizations to help educate and propagate the beauty of gardening.

Little Garden Club Tour is Thursday, June 24 from 11 am–5 pm. The tour visits six inspiring gardens in and around Leland. Tickets for this tour are $15 and may be purchased in advance from garden club members or at The Old Art Building on the day of the tour.

For additional information, call the Old Art Building at 231-256-2131.
