Glen Lake Library holds July 25 home tour

Upcoming Event

GLLibraryFrom staff reports

The Friends of the Glen Lake Community Library host their biannual Home Tour on Thursday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. As one of the Friends’ primary fundraisers, the event showcases five distinctive Glen Lake area homes.

The “Tower” home in Burdickville is a colorful contemporary that soars 40 feet high on a hilltop overlooking Big Glen, with dramatic views of the Sleeping Bear Dunes and Alligator Hill. Close by is “Dear Camp,” a centennial cabin with a studio which serves as a get-a-way nest for the artist homeowner. Two lakeside homes along Day Forest Road provide peaceful and comfortable living, one simple and elegant, and the other offering an updated ‘40’s cottage feel. A well-designed Empire New Neighborhood home uses warm color and high ceilings to create a spacious feel in a compact space.

Tickets for the Home Tour are $15 each and are available at the Glen Lake Library in Empire and the Cottage Book Shop in Glen Arbor. For more information, call (231) 326-5361 or visit www.glenlakelibrary.net.
