Meyer chases light of Leelanau

Traverse City painter Mark Meyer chases “The Light of Leelanau: Reflection, Refraction, Surface,” an exhibition of new oil paintings at Center Gallery, 6023 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor. The show opens Friday, Sept. 1 with a 6 p.m. artist’s reception; and continues until Sept. 14.

Meyer’s process begins with outdoor sketches and photography, which are later developed in his studio. As part of this exhibition, Meyer will conduct a demonstration of his process, tools and technique on Sunday, Sept. 3, 1 p.m. at Center Gallery. The demonstration is open to the public.
