Dunes Golf Course holds Phyllis Davis Memorial Tournament

On Friday, Aug. 19, friends and family of Phyllis Davis will celebrate her memory by playing her favorite sport … golf. All are welcome at the Dunes Golf Course on M-72 east of Empire for a check-in at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

A two-person scramble format will be used and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The fee for the day will be $60 per player, which will include golf, cart, cookout, beverages and prizes in three categories, men, women and mixed. Some door prizes are also promised by the sponsors, The Dunes Women’s Golf League.

Those who don’t play golf, but would like to join players for the cookout are eagerly invited for $15 per person at approximately 5:30 p.m. that afternoon.

Registration at the Dunes at (231) 326-5340 is due by Aug. 15. No reservation can be saved without payment. Make checks payable to Dunes Women’s Golf League, Charlotte Fornowski, P.O Box 348, Glen Arbor, MI, 49636.

Cancellation policy will be your fee considered a contribution with thanks. Dunes will provide rain check if necessary.
