Glen Arbor BBQ & Brew Fest returns June 21

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Local restaurateurs and Northern Michigan breweries will show off their best as Glen Arbor kicks off the summer season with the annual BBQ & Brew summer celebration on Saturday, June 21, from 2 until 8 p.m. BBQ & Brew is a fundraiser for the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce. This year’s celebration will be held under the tent at the northwest corner of Western Avenue and Lake Street, and feature an adjacent dining tent to sit, relax and enjoy great music.

Two bands will provide enjoyable listening and dance music. From 2-5, from Ann Arbor, Mustard’s Retreat will entertain us with folk music, stories, and humor. Then from 5-8, The Rick Hick’s Band from Muskegon, will provide a flavorful mix of Blues and Motown Sounds to get your dancing on.

An intermittent live auction will fill space between bands. The Chamber is excited to offer great items such as: a vintage, official M-22 sign; a charter fishing trip from local captain Bob Smith; dinner for six at Trattoria Funistrada; a large framed vintage Dickinson Gallery photo; dinner for six at The Manor on Glen Lake, and more.

Participating local restaurants and purveyors of fine food include Art’s Tavern, Blu, Cherry Republic, Pleva’s Meats, Little Traverse Inn and the Manor on Glen Lake. You can enjoy all that great barbeque with craft beer; something from our wine table; or a non-alcoholic choice from Bay Lavender and the Cherry Republic.

Admission is $15 per person, which includes an all-day wristband and four tickets to use toward the purchase of beverages. Food vendors will be collecting cash for small or larger plates ranging from $5 to about $8. Besides fabulous slow-cooked BBQ options, chicken and veggie options are included this year.
