Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore will again be hosting their successful barn restoration workshop June 18-22 at the Thoreson Granary and Corn Crib located off M-22 on Thoreson Road, four miles north of Glen Arbor. This year marks the 17th anniversary of the partnership between the Michigan Barn Preservation Network and the National Lakeshore in developing this series of “hands-on” workshops. The park and the Michigan Barn Preservation Network are providing the skilled labor to put on this workshop.

The final presentation of the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Artist-in-Residence series will be on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Pennsylvania artist and summer resident of Burdickville, Lynn Uhlmann will present her work of landscapes in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.

The Glen Arbor Art Association kicks off this season’s exciting array of classes for children and young adults. Special family fun classes include “Family Plein Air Painting at Thoreson Farm” – a two-hour workshop to create an acrylic painting with your family, and a “Mother and Daughter in the Garden” class, for a unique plein air experience.

THREE MEN & a TENOR are coming back. For the second year in a row this internationally renowned sensation will bring a high-energy, hilarious, vocal music show to Thoreson Farm near Glen Arbor, Saturday, June 25. This concert is the main ingredient of the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Here Comes Summer event. Come celebrate the arrival of summer with a special evening of music, children’s art activities, a gift basket silent auction, instant family photography, and free Cherry Republic ice cream.
