Here comes summer with THREE MEN & a TENOR

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

THREE MEN & a TENOR are coming back. For the second year in a row this internationally renowned sensation will bring a high-energy, hilarious, vocal music show to Thoreson Farm near Glen Arbor, Saturday, June 25. This concert is the main ingredient of the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Here Comes Summer event. Come celebrate the arrival of summer with a special evening of music, children’s art activities, a gift basket silent auction, instant family photography, and free Cherry Republic ice cream.

THREE MEN and a TENOR have been performing together since 1992, and have polished a family-oriented musical comedy program designed to make people laugh and feel good. It is a professionally staged and choreographed show with a unique twist – the group performs the whole show without using any instrumental support – if you hear instruments; it is one of their four voices making it happen. These musicians have entertained the troops in Iraq, college and university audiences and opened at the Traverse City Cherry Festival. They were voted “The Best Entertainment in Michigan” by the Michigan Meetings and Event Planners and they have recently done a taping for “America’s Got Talent”.

The gates open at 5 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7 there will be art activities for children with face painting, hat making, nuts and bolts jewelry, and much more. For the grown-ups there will be a silent auction of gift baskets donated by local businesses. Also, for a small fee families and friends can have an instant photograph taken complete with farm props and gear to wear. THREE MEN and a TENOR will perform at 7 p.m. Bring your chairs and a picnic supper and be ready to be entertained.

Order now so that your family can attend this fun-filled evening. Admission to the concert, which starts at 7:00 p.m., is $20 for adults, $10 for children 4-12, and under age 4 are free. Concert orders may be placed on line at www.glenarborart.org or by calling (231) 334-6112. The $5/child admission to the children’s art activities may be purchased at the gate. In the event of rain, the concert will take place at Glen Lake School without the pre-concert children’s art activities.

This event takes place at historic Thoreson Farm, located on Thoreson Road in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore provides a summer-perfect venue that will bring the community together to celebrate the arts, the uniqueness of northern Michigan’s rural life and family summer traditions. Here Comes Summer promises to be the sensation of the summer.
