Readers Theater presents J.M. Barrie plays
From staff reports
The Glen Arbor Art Association Readers’ Theater presents two plays by British playwright J.M. Barrie, June 2-3, at 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church, 4902 W. MacFarlane Road in Burdickville (east shore of the Glen Lakes).
Barrie’s plays, The Old Lady Shows Her Medals and The Twelve-Pound Look, are both set in World War I-era London. Against a backdrop of war, The Old Lady focuses on what happens when a spinster meets the soldier-son she has invented in the hope of impressing her friend. The Twelve-Pound Look finds the soon-to-be knighted Harry Sims inadvertently reunited with a woman who might just upend his well-ordered world and impending knighthood.
Readers’ Theater performances are free to the public, but reservations are suggested. For more information or to make reservations, please email gaaareaderstheater@gmail.com.
