Reader’s Theater holds tryouts for A Christmas Carol

From staff reports

The Glen Arbor Art Association has announced the scheduling of tryouts for its December Reader’s Theater production of the movie/radio play A Christmas Carol. The date for the tryouts is October 6, at 7 p.m. at its 6031 South Lake Street, Glen Arbor facility. Directing the play will be Ron Smith, a Glen Arbor local who recently directed Casablanca.

Dates for the performances will be December 11, 12 and 14, also at the Glen Arbor Art Association. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The play requires 13 actors filling over 30 roles, so casting will include many multiple roles. The role of Scrooge, the Narrator, the Ghosts, the Cratchits, etc. are all awaiting your best Dickens’ era efforts, and the Christmas season is always one in which this beloved play is well received.
