Readers Theater holds auditions for Hitchcock play

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

The Glen Arbor Art Association’s Readers’ Theater will hold auditions on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. for its next performance, “Notorious”, a Lux Radio Theater playscript based on the 1946 award-winning Alfred Hitchcock movie of the same name.

Auditions will be held at the home of Karen and Peter Van Nort, at 2 Pine Trace, in Glen Arbor’s Woodstone subdivision, whose entrance is on South Lake Street. See the original movie at 7 with auditions for the radio play version immediately following. Audition scripts will be available.

The director for this Readers’ Theater show will be Josephine Zara. Because she will be out of town from January until May 1, “Notorious” will be cast now so that rehearsals can begin on Wednesday, May 8. The show will go live June 14-16.

Readers’ Theater will present two more plays this coming winter season. Open auditions for “Four Cab Rides, Abridged”, by Carol Winograd and directed by Harriett Mittelberger, will be held on January 9. The show will be performed February 16 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. Auditions will be held February 20 for “The Circus Train” by Ellery Queen and “The Ugliest Woman” by Robert Arthur & David Kogan, and directed by Mason Query. This show will be performed April 13 at 7 p.m. and April 14 at 3 p.m.
