Old Art Building hosts evening with Abra Berens and friends

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

The Friends of the Leland Township Library will hold a fundraising event on Saturday, May 13, at 7 pm, featuring renowned chef and cookbook author Abra Berens. The event, titled “An Evening with Abra Berens & Friends” will be held at the Old Art Building in Leland.

At the event, Abra will introduce her newest book Pulp: A Practical Guide to Cooking with Fruit, and engage in a lively conversation with local fruit growers Gene Garthe, Nikki Rothwell and Pete Laing, all of whom are featured in the book.

There are two ticket options available for the event. VIP tickets, which are limited to just 30, include a wine and cheese reception inside the Leland Library prior to the event, offering an exclusive opportunity to mingle with Abra Berens. The main event will commence at 7 pm at the Old Art Building. Both VIP and general admission tickets include a copy of Abra’s new book, Pulp, as part of the purchase.

This event is generously sponsored by the Leland Lodge and MAWBY. The evening serves as a fundraiser for the Leland Township Library, which has plans for expansion and renovation in the coming years. Abra Berens, a strong advocate for the value of public libraries, is proud to lend her support.

Tickets for “An Evening with Abra Berens & Friends” can be purchased online at lelandlibrary.org. Don’t miss this exceptional opportunity to support the Leland Township Library while enjoying an evening with Abra Berens and celebrating our local fruit-growing community.
