Leland Gal moves into new home

Business Feature, News

From staff reports

After 13 seasons in her own location (previously Fishtown and then Main Street Leland), Maggie Mielczarek of Leland Gal is making a transition to move inside The Leland Harbor House. As the owners of the Leland Harbor House business, Maggie and her husband Greg Mielczarek had been pondering this idea since they first acquired the business in 2023, and the timing now makes sense.

The Leland Harbor House is a 100-year-old storied building that has been a mainstay of Leland for decades, and will continue to offer apparel from top name brands as well as their own branded lifestyle apparel. What does this mean for Leland Gal?

“Our last day at our current location will be Oct. 25, coinciding with The Leland Fall Frenzy, where we will have some fabulous deals. After that, we will have a transitional setup at The Harbor House through the end of the year.” Maggie said.

In 2026, Leland Gal will kick off the season with a “store inside the store” experience and will continue to host their signature Pop Up event series at their design studio located above The Harbor House. The studio is named Loft 333 and is a huge light-filled open space filled with history and charm that will offer an exciting new experience for guests. If you would like to be included on their mailing list to find out more about events, please send your contact information here: ahoy@lelandgal.com.

Maggie says she is excited to reinvent the Loft 333 space and continue to expand on The Leland Gal experience for her customers in a whole new way. She plans to continue building her brand and focusing more energy on creative collaborations, custom collections, and creating a wholesale line in 2026 with a new collection of Leland-specific prints that will be sold exclusively inside The Leland Harbor House.

Leland Gal will host open office hours for custom design consultations featuring her fabric and wallpaper line in the summer at the Loft 333 space, and will be available by appointment. The Loft 333 space will be offering other boutique events throughout the year so stay tuned! You will also be able to find the new Leland Gal Equestrian collection at the Traverse City Horse Shows for the 2026 season.
