News

LeelanauWomen-MadisonFrom staff reports

The League of Women Voters Leelanau County (LWVLC) will present “The Weather Machine Shifts Gears,” with guest speaker Dave Barrons, at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the Leelanau County Government Center.

Barrons will discuss the current state of the planet’s heat balance and why we should expect continued extreme weather events. The public is invited, and all are welcome to bring sack lunches.

Barrons was a meteorologist with 9 and 10 News for 20 years, and is the current host of “Investigating Community Resilience” on UpNorth TV.

For more information, call (231) 386-5106, visit LWVLeelanau.org or follow the LWVLC on Facebook.
