Glen Arbor Art Association welcomes illustrator Mark Meyer
Mark T. Meyer is the next Glen Arbor Art Association (GAAA) artist-resident. His working retreat begins Sept. 1, and will allow the Traverse City resident to study “the visual details that make up the vistas that attract us to the area,” he said.
Meyer figures he has held “a pen, pencil or brush in his hand since childhood.” He is a self-taught illustrator with 25 years in the field of architectural design and illustration. During his GAAA residency Meyer plans to work in the field, sketching, producing plein air studies as well as finished pieces that illustrate the way light and color interacts with the environment of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
A public presentation of Meyer’s residency work is Thursday, Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m. at the GAAA. For more information, please call (231) 334-6112.
