Leelanau Conservancy holds Earth Week events

From staff reports

As the climate warms and our world responds, Leelanau witnesses the familiar signs of spring’s arrival—a season now marked by changing weather patterns and ecological shifts.

In recognition of these changes, the Leelanau Conservancy invites all to partake in 2024 Earth Week. Amid concerns of climate disruption, the Conservancy’s annual series of events aims to foster community resilience and environmental stewardship. From April 22-28 the Conservancy will engage in hikes, volunteer opportunities, and community gatherings, all emphasized by a collective commitment to mitigate the impacts of climate change and protect Leelanau for generations to come.

Events include: on Tuesday, April 23, at 4 pm a Volunteer Trail Crew Open House, and a Tera John Full Moon Hike on 8:30 pm; on Friday, April 26, at 10 am, Earth Week Tree Planting with Conservation Resource Alliance at DeYoung Natural Area; on Saturday, April 27, at 10 am a Docent Guided Hike, and on Sunday April 28, at 3 pm an Earth Week Celebration Concert with Elizabeth Landry at Tandem Ciders.
