League of Women Voters Leelanau County celebrates Women’s History Month with March 3 virtual forum

The League of Women Voters Leelanau County invites you to participate in a virtual “Celebrate Women’s History Month Forum” on Wednesday, March 3 at noon. Click here to register in advance for this webinar.

Learn about the lives of three Leelanau County women: Linda Woods, an Odawa Elder, Veteran and Tribal Member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians from Peshawbestown; Rosie Vasquez, who at the age of 12 moved to Lake Leelanau when her mother brought her family there as migrants to work in the fields; and Kim Kelderhouse, executive director of the Leelanau Historical Society who will speak about the life of Emelia Christine Schaub, a lawyer and Michigan’s first elected woman prosecutor.
