League of Women Voters holds candidate forums

The League of Women Voters Leelanau County has announced it will hold four upcoming candidate forums prior to the Nov. 6. national midterm election.

A forum for the 101st State House of Representatives (Republican Jack O’Malley vs Democrat Kathy Wiejaczka) and State Senate seat (Republican Curt VanderWall vs Democrat Mike Taillard) will take place on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Leelanau County Government Center.

A forum for Leelanau County Commissioner districts 6 (Republican incumbent Casey Noonan vs Democrat Carolyn Rentenbach) and 7 (Republican incumbent Melinda Lautner vs Democrat Julie Morris) will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Glen Arbor Township Hall.

The following night, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., a forum for districts 3 (Republican incumbent Will Bunek vs Democrat Lois Bahle) and 5 (Democratic incumbent Patricia Souths-Little vs Republican Dale Schaub) will be held at the Leelanau County Government Center.

A forum for Probate (Marian Kromkowski vs Michael Long) and 86 District Court Judges will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Leelanau County Government Center.
