Grand Traverse Lighthouse, Leelanau State Park host birding experience

Nature lovers and bird enthusiasts are invited to enjoy a peaceful morning of birdwatching during a special Birding Experience with Tim Webb on Saturday, May 16, at 10 am at beautiful Leelanau State Park, north of Northport.

Hosted at the historic Grand Traverse Lighthouse, this educational and relaxing outdoor program will introduce participants to a variety of local bird species and basic birding techniques. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced birder, the event offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the natural beauty and wildlife found at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula.

Participants will join local birding enthusiast Tim Webb for a guided experience focused on bird identification, observation skills, and enjoying the sights and sounds of spring migration in Northern Michigan. Binoculars will be provided for attendees who may not have their own equipment.

“Leelanau State Park is an incredible place for birdwatching, especially during spring migration,” organizers said. “This event is designed to help people slow down, connect with nature, and learn more about the amazing bird species that call this area home.”

The program will take place at: Leelanau State Park.  The program is FREE and the recreation passport is required for State Park entry.
