From staff reports
Join the Glen Arbor community for the inaugural family-friendly Pumpkin Fest from 1-6 p.m. on Oct. 22. This celebration of Fall will take place in downtown Glen Arbor all afternoon, giving participants time to carve their artistic creations, enjoy family-friendly activities and contests, followed by a Pumpkin lighting at dusk and a community Dinner.
From 1-6 p.m. Pumpkins will be provided to carve your masterpieces. The event is free and open to children of all ages. Pumpkins will be placed along M-22 and there a grand lighting will follow at 6:30.
The fun continues with a costume parade for kids and pets at 1:30. From 2 to 5 Jack Pine will perform live music. Fun, family-friendly activities such as face painting by The Painted Lady will follow from 2-4, games & prizes at 2, and again at 4, with a pie eating contest at 3. The event will be topped off with a spaghetti dinner from 5:30-7:30 in the Glen Arbor Town Hall, and for the grand finale the pumpkins will be lit just before sunset at 6:30. Need refreshments? There will be a beer garden outside Art’s Tavern.
Also on that day, Anderson’s Market will host their annual Harvest Fest. With food and wine tastings, face painting and a brat cookout, there’s plenty of reasons to be in Glen Arbor Oct. 22.
Pumpkin carving is FREE to participate and open to kids of all ages. Donations are accepted. The community dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
