Glen Arbor Wines holds wine release party

Business Feature, Local Personality, Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Fine wine, great art and good music promise a beautiful evening at Glen Arbor Wines on Sunday, May 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. Glen Arbor Wines is located on Lake Street north of downtown. Join us for a celebration of wine made from grapes grown in the only vineyard in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

The wine is Glen Arbor Wines’ 2017 Kerner—a riesling/trollinger hybrid that offers tastes of apple and lychee. Glen Arbor Wines is only one of several wines to serve a 2017 Kerner. There are only 750 bottles of this reserved wine.

Fine wine deserves great art. Glen Arbor wines has collaborated with Glen Arbor artist Linda Dewey to create the art for the label of the 2017 Kerner. Linda captured the breathtaking beauty of this vineyard, located across from Glen Lake in her approximately 11” x 10” pastel painting. Dewey’s pastel will be on display at Glen Arbor Wines from noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 27. The public is invited to submit silent bids for this local art work. The winner will be revealed at the party, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Wine, art and, of course, music. We’ve invited musician Andre Villoch to entertain us with his Michigan folk (don’t be fooled by a label) sound.

As always, our fire pits will be on, our bocce court will be warmed up and our atmosphere will be casual, fun and family friendly. Bring a picnic, blanket and outdoor chairs to relax, enjoy good music, great art and fine wine.

There is no admission to this event; regular tasting and glass prices apply.
