Glen Arbor Tennis Tournament

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Glen Arbor’s annual Tennis Tournament is scheduled for June 26-28. All matches are doubles and are played at the downtown courts in Glen Arbor or at the Leelanau School.

The Women’s Doubles matches will be held on Friday, June 26. The Men’s Doubles and Mixed-Doubles Draws will follow on Saturday, June 27. And the Semifinals and Finals of Men’s Doubles and Mixed-Doubles Draws will conclude on Sunday, June 28. Each team is guaranteed to play at least two matches.

The cost if $50 per player for Women’s Doubles and the Luncheon at Cherry Republic, or $25 per player for Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Entries are due by Monday, June 22. To enter, please contact Kim Guilbeau at kimguilbeau@gmail.com or call 517-420-3112.

Exciting changes to this year’s tournament include the use of four newly resurfaced courts at the Leelanau School, a mile north of Glen Arbor. This allows the tournament to expand to include two separate draws (A and B) in both the Women’s and Men’s Doubles. The A draw will consist of tournament tough teams, those who play team tennis, league play, 3.5 rating or above and wish to play in a competitive environment. The B draw is for the recreational player, those who enjoy playing competitively but want to have a more light hearted fun environment.

All money raised from this tournament goes into the Glen Arbor Park fund. Once again, this year the tournament is being sponsored by Cherry Republic and Anderson’s Market.
