Kick off the holiday season in Glen Arbor this Thanksgiving weekend with a warm welcome to the annual Holiday Artisan Market, plus two of Glen Arbor’s favorite quirky traditions, the “PJ Party” and the “Bed Parade,” for a weekend full of local creativity, community, and holiday cheer. Learn about each event at VisitGlenArbor.com

The weekend starts bright and early Friday, Nov. 29, with a “PJ Party” shopping event, from 6-9 am. An annual Glen Arbor tradition that turns Black Friday shopping into a cozy, quieter, fun community gathering. Local shops offer special deals and refreshments during this timeframe where guests are encouraged to arrive in their pajamas for a truly relaxed shopping experience. (Check with specific shop hours, offerings and event time frame. Some stores open early at 6 am, while others open at 7 am).

For those who prefer not to be awake so early, anyone can participate in the “Bed Parade” or just show up to witness the spirited procession of creatively decorated beds from 9-9:30 am. The Bed Parade is a quirky, lighthearted tradition that embodies the community’s fun-loving spirit. Anyone is welcome to join. Meet in front of the Pine Cone by 8:45 am. The parade goes from the Pine Cone to Art’s Tavern.

Cap the day off with joyous Tree Lighting & Caroling outside the Glen Arbor Town Hall at 6:15 pm, as the tree outside town hall gets specially lit, setting the scene for the weekend. Then, from 6:30 to 8 pm, enter the Holiday Market Preview Party and be among the first to shop a curated selection of artisan goods. From unique, handcrafted items to inspired seasonal décor, the Preview Party is your chance to get a head start on holiday shopping.

Saturday, Nov. 30 is not to miss. Shop quality locally made goods at the Glen Arbor Holiday Marketplace. Located at Glen Arbor Town Hall, the market opens the doors from 10 am-3 pm, showcasing more than 25 talented vendors with a delightful array of locally-made art, jewelry, home goods, and more—perfect for finding meaningful gifts that capture the spirit of Northern Michigan.

Families are invited to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at the M22 Wine Patio (6298 W. Western Ave) from 11 am-1 pm, with festive photo opportunities for all ages.
