Glen Arbor Arts Center hosts PULSE Saxophone Quartet, Late Night Fridays, Forging for Peace

The Glen Arbor Arts Center (GAAC) is keeping the lights on a little longer this summer on Friday nights. Late Night Fridays continues June 16 with a front porch concert featuring the PULSE Saxophone Quartet from 7-8 pm. This unique chamber ensemble is the GAAC’s 2023 Musicians-in-Residence, part of the Manitou Music Series. Read more about the ensemble at GlenArborArt.org/events. Bring a chair. The concert is free.
Both GAAC galleries are open until 8 pm that night. In the GAAC Main Gallery is the 2023 Members Create, an exhibition of work by 49 GAAC members. In the Lobby Gallery: The Birds Are Watching, mixed media constructions by Jessica Kovan. Read more about the exhibits at GlenArborArt.org/exhibits.
All Late Friday Nights events are free. The GAAC is located at 6031 S. Lake St., Glen Arbor.

Concerts include: June 16 at 7 pm at the Glen Arbor Arts Center Front Porch; a pontoon concert on June 17 at 1 pm at the Glen Lake Narrows; June 22 at 7 pm at the Leelanau School auditorium and beach. Pulse Quartet samples include: June 17 at 6:30 and 7:30 pm at Blu; June 19 at 5 pm at Grocer’s Daughter Chocolate and 5:30 pm at Cherry Republic; June 20 from 10-11:30 am at the Glen Arbor Town Hall; June 23 at 2 pm at Inn and Trail, 2:30 pm at Synchronicity Gallery, 3 pm at Cottonseed Apparel, and 3:30 pm at Glen Arbor Wines. The quartet will also perform Sunrise and Sunset sounds, musical playground for kids, and open rehearsals at the Arts Center.
The Forging For Peace Project blacksmiths return to the GAAC Forge on Sunday, June 18, from 11 am-3 pm. The demonstration is free and open to the public.
These northern Michigan artists and craftsmen use the ancient art of blacksmithing as part of a world-wide project to raise funds for non-profits focused on peacemaking.
