Glen Arbor Arts Center stays out late on Friday nights

To enhance its presence and augment its own legacy, the Glen Arbor Arts Center has developed a new program, Late Night Fridays (LNF). Designed to facilitate further creative engagement with the community, the GAAC Main Gallery will be open to the public every Friday from 5 to 8 p.m., June 9 through Aug. 25. Additionally, LNF includes four events this summer: two opening receptions for art exhibitions and two Front Porch Concerts. “We’re keeping the lights on a little longer on Friday nights this summer during Light Night Fridays,” shared Sarah Bearup-Neal, GAAC gallery manager.

Glen Arbor Arts Center hosts PULSE Saxophone Quartet, Late Night Fridays, Forging for Peace

The Glen Arbor Arts Center is keeping the lights on a little longer this summer on Friday nights. Late Night Fridays continues June 16 with a front porch concert featuring the PULSE Saxophone Quartet from 7-8 pm. This unique chamber ensemble is the GAAC’s 2023 Musicians-in-Residence, part of the Manitou Music Series.

Glen Lake Library begins Summer Kids Program

The Glen Lake Library in Empire will begin its summer kids’ program schedule on Thursday morning, June 15, at 11 am, with a special performance by the PULSE Saxophone Quartet. Programs will take place every Thursday morning through August 17, featuring a variety of activities including music, art, nature exploration, exercise, and magic. All programs are presented free of charge, with no advance registration required.

Manitou Music series evolves, spreads throughout community

A variety of sounds will fill the air during the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s Manitou Music series this year, from piano to saxophones to drums, drums and more drums. The series kicks off April 28 with pianist Tyler Faruzzi, and concludes Aug. 24 with New Music Detroit’s take on chamber music, featuring works by 20th-century composers.
