Celebrate Thanksgiving in your pajamas

From staff reports

Spend your Thanksgiving weekend in Glen Arbor, where the town is busy preparing for a family-friendly weekend with numerous activities.

Beat that turkey-induced urge to sleep, and rise early on Friday, Nov. 23, for the annual Pajama Party from 5-7 a.m. Many merchants open their doors and offer discounts on clothing, gourmet food, household decor, children’s items, art and jewelry. Patrons are encouraged to wear their pajamas while shopping around Glen Arbor for holiday gifts.

On Friday evening, the Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Caroling Celebration at the Glen Arbor Township Hall. The event begins at 7 p.m. and all are welcome to attend. Immediately following the Tree Lighting & Caroling, the Holiday Marketplace at the Glen Arbor Township Hall will open its doors for a preview of Saturday’s gift-buying event.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, attend the Holiday Marketplace at the Glen Arbor Township Hall. This annual event showcases local and visiting artists and merchants selling art, clothing, decor, gourmet food and gifts. Food from Riverfront Pizza & Specialties is available for purchase at the Marketplace.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause will be at the Marketplace from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to discuss Christmas wishes with the younger shoppers. Admission is free to all events and all are open to the public.

The Glen Arbor Township Hall is located at 6394 W. Western Ave. (M-22).
