The Glen Arbor Arts Center is offering two classes that bring a creative hand to the holidays.

If you want to know the truth, the real down and dirty truth behind the fancy cameras and makeup, ask one of the many production assistants who donated their time to help local filmmakers shoot a full-length action comedy all around Leelanau Country, the Traverse City area, and the Upper Peninsula in September.

The former Glen Arbor Township Cemetery, located in the backwoods behind Boonedocks, has been buried in a tangle of trees since the brutal storm of August 2015. The place is dear to me because my first book, Aaron’s Crossing, began its life and death saga when I sensed a ghost there.

Leelanau County voters have an opportunity when we vote on Tuesday, Nov. 5, to support children between the ages of 0-5 and their hard-working families—and to make a statement that this County welcomes young families to live and thrive here, to send their children to our schools, and eventually to populate our depleted workforce.
