Becky Thatcher Designs uses pop-up store in downtown Glen Arbor

From staff reports

Becky Thatcher Designs, which is based on Lake Street as you head north toward Lake Michigan, opened a pop-up store for Fourth of July weekend. Staffed by Conrad Heiderer and Juliette Sprouse, the additional outlet is on the north side of M-22, across from Art’s Tavern. It will remain open through the end of October.

What we offer in the pop-up store is a little bit like an appetizer to what we sell in the main gallery,” said Becky Thatcher. “We are showcasing some of newest silver designs, our most popular products, and a special collection to raise funds for Circle of Blue—a local nonprofit that I’ve always admired,” Founded by Leelanau County native Carl Ganter, CircleofBlue.org reports on global water issues. “This is something that I felt would resonate with people visiting the area,” Thatcher added. “We all relate to water.”

Thatcher decided to pursue the pop-up location when friends in the jewelry business who were visiting Glen Arbor in late June pointed out that she had enough inventory to warrant opening a location in the heart of town. She immediately contacted realtor Rob Serbin and Kathy Warnes, the executor of Elsie Warnes’ estate. Four days later, the space known historically for Barb’s Bakery sported Becky Thatcher’s fine jewelry.
