“Gem Hunter” to visit Becky Thatcher Designs

On July 19, Glen Arbor will welcome “Gem Hunter” Gary Bowersox who will speak at a special Tea Talk in the garden of Becky Thatcher Designs.
An internationally known explorer and gemologist, Bowersox has spent over 35 years exploring Afghanistan. He also shared discoveries of the emeralds of Afghanistan through his published works in Gems and Gemology and his books The Gem Hunter and Gemstones of Afghanistan. Bowersox will be on hand at Becky Thatcher Designs to share his travel experiences and highlight the noted stones and gems native to the country.
Becky Thatcher Designs Tuesday Tea Talks have become a summer tradition in Glen Arbor at Becky’s studio and customers return year-after-year to learn about gemstones in a personal, intimate outdoor setting. “We look forward each year to providing our customers and summer visitors the opportunity to learn all aspects of a stone type at the Tea Talks. When you can understand the characteristics of a stone, you gain a new appreciation for the diversity in the world,” states owner and designer Becky Thatcher.
