The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail presents its Sips & Soups event on Saturday, Jan. 20, from noon until 5 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include a souvenir wine glass. In addition, $5 for each ticket sold is donated to local food banks coordinated by Leelanau Christian Neighbors. The 2014 Traverse City Wine & Art Festival presents a new and improved event for its sixth year. This year’s festival, to be held at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons on Saturday, June 21, celebrates regional wine, food and culture of northern Michigan. More than 5,000 people will join the festivities, which includes several new additions such as a VIP party and lounge, a wine education tent, a second music stage and a juried art show with best of show and peoples choice awards.

The Glen Arbor Art Association, The Homestead resort and the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail will again team up to offer Art From Michigan’s Wine Country on Friday, Feb. 7, from 6-8 p.m. at The Homestead’s Mountain Flowers Lodge. Now in its sixth year, this fun winter event kicks off Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail’s Taste the Passion weekend. The Friday night GAAA benefit features wine from Leelanau wineries, original art exhibits and sales by local artists and a small plates menu designed by Chef Piombo.

The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail carries on a great holiday tradition in Northern Michigan with the 2013 Toast the Season wine tour either of the first two weekends of November. Choose your weekend to tour the wineries of Leelanau — either Nov. 3-4 or 10-11. The tour is self guided and participants may visit member wineries each day in any order desired, between the hours of 11am to 5pm Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
