Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to premiere new park film

News, Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has announced the world premiere of Water, Sand, and Sky, their new park film. The film will be premiered during National Park Week (April 16-24) in a public campaign called “Sleeping Bear Everywhere.” The campaign is intended to be inclusive, rather than exclusive, by providing a variety of public viewing opportunities. The National Lakeshore is looking for local venues who may want to host a premiere at their site. Hosts can choose their own date anytime during National Park Week and park rangers may be available to travel to the venue to help present the film. To participate in Sleeping Bear Everywhere, hosts should sign up on the National Lakeshore’s website Water, Sand, and Sky Film Premiere (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov) by March 28.

Along with a digital version of Water, Sand, and Sky, hosts will be provided a short introductory promotional video, six topical video shorts, and captioned/narrated accessible versions of the film. The main film is 25 minutes in length. Supporting promotional materials will be provided as well.

Events can be held anytime during National Park Week, April 16-24. Locations must be within 50 miles of the National Lakeshore for the possibility of a ranger co-host. This event must be FREE. Tickets can be reserved/issued, but there cannot be any associated charges to view the premiere.
