Sleeping Bear Dunes hosts teacher workshop for K-8 educators

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is pleased to announce that they will be hosting their first-ever Teacher Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free workshop is open to 12 participants. Beverages, snacks, and lunches will be provided. All 12 participants will receive some bus funding to assist with the cost of transporting their students to the park for a field trip during the 2017/2018 school year.

Come spend a day with park employees and learn about ranger-led field trips, teacher-led field trip kits, distance learning programs, and service learning projects. After lunch, they will lead teachers into the park to hike, test out activities, and more! For more information or to sign up, please email the Education Technician at slbe_education@nps.gov with your name, phone number, school, grade at which you currently teach, and whether or not you have brought students to the National Lakeshore in the past. Reservations are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until Oct. 20.
