From staff reports

Acting superintendent (and previously the deputy superintendent) Tom Ulrich has reportedly made it to the final round of interviews for the position of superintendent of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The identities and number of his competitors is not publicly known. Dusty Shultz is the outgoing superintendent.

Citizens of the Sleeping Bear region are encouraged to share their thoughts about the next superintendent with National Park Midwest Regional director Cameron Sholly. Sholly can be reached via email at Cam_Sholly@nps.gov, via phone at 402-661-1520, or via snail mail at National Park Service / 601 Riverfront Drive / Omaha, Nebraska 68102-4226.

While at Sleeping Bear, Ulrich has helped oversee the creation of the popular Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, which stretches from Empire to the Port Oneida Rural Historic District and will be expanded by 3.8 miles this spring to reach Bohemian Rd by Good Harbor Bay.
