Peninsula Housing launches new website

From staff reports

Peninsula Housing, the community land trust dedicated to providing secure, affordable housing for Leelanau County, has launched a newly designed website which, according to founder Larry Mawby, “reflects our work well, gives users more information about us, shows the projects we are working on, while inviting users to participate in our work.”

As stated on its website, Peninsula Housing is dedicated to solving Leelanau County’s affordable housing challenge and offering sustainable housing solutions that remain affordable for generations. “Our work in Suttons Bay and around Leelanau includes a mix of family homes and energy-efficient apartments, all designed to strengthen our community.”

Claire Wood, communications director for the Leelanau Conservancy and consultant for Peninsula Housing’s website redesign, said, “Affordable housing is a cause I care deeply about. As a young professional living and working in the region, I’ve seen how difficult finding housing has become for myself and my peers.

“What Larry’s created with Peninsula Housing is innovative and a much needed part of the solution to help Leelanau remain a community for all. I was happy to help create a website that will hopefully spread the word about community land trusts and make the option more accessible to more people.”
