Park Ranger to speak at Glen Lake Library

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

The Glen Lake Library will host a presentation by Sleeping Bear Dunes park ranger Jim Del Sasso, a 40-year veteran of the Park Service, on Thursday, June 19 at 7 p.m. “Ranger Jim” has worked in parks ranging from Denali to the Everglades, spending the last 20 years patrolling our local lakeshore. He will share stories, insights and pictures from his long career just weeks before his scheduled retirement in July. The presentation will take place at the Empire Township Hall.

Glen Lake Library announces summer kids program schedule

The Glen Lake Library will begin a series of weekly children’s programs on Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m., with a story hour by Joanne “Yogi” Beare. Other events on the schedule include a beekeeping demonstration, folk music, children’s authors, and an introduction to sign language. All events will take place on Thursday mornings at 11 a.m., and are free to the public thanks to generous sponsorship from Art’s Tavern, Jim Bagaloff, and the Empire Chamber of Commerce. For more information, see the library’s website, www.glenlakelibrary.net.
