On Friday, Oct. 20, new Sugar Loaf resort owner Jeff Katofsky told the Glen Arbor Sun that he hopes to build a 4-star, year-round resort at Sugar Loaf but wasn’t yet sure about whether it would include downhill skiing; the resort wouldn’t be complete for 2-3 years, at the earliest; he doesn’t know, or care, if former owner Remo Polselli’s name is still connected to the mortgage, and he decided to meet with the Leelanau public later that day to quell rumors and to keep officials from having to answer questions every single day.
