Manitou Music Festival presents Celtic Fusion ensemble Nessa

Upcoming Event

From staff reports

The Manitou Music Festival is pleased to welcome Nessa on Sunday, July 17. Nessa, an exciting new Celtic fusion ensemble, led by flutist/vocalist Kelly McDermott, presents a dynamic array of freshly arranged ancient Celtic ballads and folk songs from the U.K. This upbeat band combines classical, jazz, and Irish influences with accents of world music, along with clever, soulful arrangements of classic themes. Nessa is a fun, funky group with depth and color.

“The folk tradition is alive and well in these beautifully crafted, modern interpretations.” Rob Reinhart — Acoustic Café

Admission is $15 for the 8 p.m. concert; Children 18 and under are FREE. Tickets are available at the Glen Arbor Art Association office in Glen Arbor, and online at GlenArborArt.org. The concert will take place on the Studio Stage at Lake Street Studios, 6023 S. Lake Street, Glen Arbor. Chairs are provided, or you can bring your own. In the event of rain, the show will go on at the Glen Arbor Town Hall.

Studio Stage concerts are part of the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Manitou Music Festival, thanks to corporate sponsorships from Art’s Tavern, Cherry Republic, Cordia, Cottonseed Apparel, Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce, McCahill’s Crossing Dairy Bar and Motel, On the Narrows Marina, Quick Storage, and individual contributions. The full schedule of concerts is available at glenarborart.org or by calling the Glen Arbor Art Association 231-334-6112.
