Homestead hosts charity golf outing
The Homestead will host the seventh annual Charity Golf Outing on Thursday, August 18. All proceeds will benefit ShareCare of Leelanau, Inc. Mountain Flowers, The Homestead’s private Par 3, nine-hole golf course will be open to the public for this special event. “This event is a great opportunity for local golfers to experience the resort’s challenging Par 3 course and benefit a great local organization,” said Jamie Jewell, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at The Homestead. “Mountain Flowers is known for its’ spectacular views of Lake Michigan!”
Tee times are available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Advance tee times are recommended. The cost is $25 per person, which includes nine holes of golf with a cart and gift. Prizes will be awarded on designated holes for “Closest to the Pin” and “Longest Putt”. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the course.
The Homestead chose to support this local organization seven years ago. “Each year we receive hundreds of requests for donations,” said Adriene Kokowicz, Vice President and General Manager of The Homestead. “Unfortunately, we’re not able to fulfill every request. As an alternative, we came up with the idea to support a local charity which we could sponsor several events for throughout the year.”
The Homestead is a waterfront resort community that is located inside of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, a unit of the National Park Service. Along with its unmatched natural setting and miles of frontage on Lake Michigan and the Crystal River, the resort offers guests pools, tennis and golf in the summer; downhill and cross country skiing in the winter; and a spa, fitness center, shops, restaurants and meeting centers in all seasons of the year.
