Homestead holds contest to name its new salon

Business Feature, Upcoming Event

From staff reports

The Homestead resort north of Glen Arbor is opening a new beauty salon this summer, and your help is sought in giving it a name. Submit salon names to The Homestead to win prizes such as a hair style, manicure, pedicure, lunch at Cavanaugh’s Deli, dinner at Nonna’s or memberships at the resort’s New Leaf Health & Fitness Center.

The contest will operate in three, two-week rounds. Enter as many salon names as you wish by stopping at The Homestead or entering online. At the end of a the first two-week entry period, a panel of judges will select the top 12 salon names from the pool of entries. You will have an opportunity to vote for your favorite Round 1 salon names at that time. The top three names that receive the most votes for that round will move on to the semi-final round. The cycle starts over again for Round 2 and Round 3 until there are nine semi finalists.

On June 22-28, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite semi finalists (the top three winners from each Contest Entry Round). A first, second and third place winner will be announced at a Winners Announcement & Reception at The Homestead that starts at the salon. Watch as the name is announced and the new sign is revealed. Semi finalists and a guest will enjoy a reception with small food plates, prepared by The Homestead’s Executive Chef John Piombo and served with fine Leelanau wines.
