Glen Lake Schools Board of Education releases summary of Joan Groening investigation

A day before the Glen Lake Community Schools Board of Education publishes its independent investigation into the administration of former district superintendent Joan Groening, the Glen Arbor Sun acquired a copy of the summary of that investigation. The 18-page summary uncovered “significant questions regarding the proper accounting” of paid time off by Groening.
“… it is our conclusion that (the investigation) uncovered apparent violations of the Michigan Constitution, state laws including the Revised School Code, District policies, and central office best practices, as well as significant misuse of public funds,” the summary stated.
