News

From staff reports

The Glen Lake Chamber of Commerce will hold its Pumpkin Fest in the newly remodeled Glen Arbor Township Park on Saturday, Oct. 20, from noon until 3 p.m. The local community and visitors are invited to enjoy this celebration of autumn.

Festivities begin at noon with games, pumpkin carving, face painting by Painted Lady Face Art, Smock’s Craft Tables, Music will be provided by DJ Miles Pendergast, and food will include cider, donuts and hot dogs.

New to Pumpkin Fest this year will be Lord of the Gourd performing carving demonstrations from noon until 2 p.m. Bring the kids dressed in costume for this year’s costume parade at 12:30 p.m. with prizes given to winners in a range of categories. The pet parade at 1 p.m. will feature your four-legged friends in costume. Stick around for the cake walk at 1:30, a super fun and entertaining pie eating contest at 2, and games and pumpkin carving wrap up by 3.

Participants carved pumpkins and artistry by Lord of the Gourd will be displayed throughout town. The park’s landscape walls will be lit at 6 p.m. for all to enjoy.
