Glen Arbor Arts Center offers plastic art, pastels classes
The Glen Arbor Arts Center offers two classes in May to help re-ignite creative juices: PL*ART Basics on May 4 and Soft Pastel for Beginners on May 14-15.
Leelanau County artist Mary O’Neill offers a creative alternative to throwing away single-use, post-consumer plastic: PL*ART– plastic art. Students learn the steps of fusing layers of plastic that be turned into framed compositions and material for other projects including art journals and wearables. Cost is $45 GAAC members, $60 nonmembers.
Soft Pastel for Beginnersis designed to take the mystery out of interpreting and painting landscapes using soft pastel. Leelanau County artist Barbara Reich leads this friendly class that hones in on the medium’s fundamentals. Cost is $85 GAAC members, $100 nonmembers.
