Empire Town Hall hosts Oomen

The Cottage Book Shop and the Glen Lake Community Library will host local author Anne-Marie Oomen on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. Oomen will present her latest book The Lake Michigan Mermaid, a beautiful “tale in poems” co-authored by Linda Nemec Foster. The book tells the story of a young girl struggling with her rapidly changing life, and the magical connection with an unexpected friend that offers her hope. Set in the familiar environs of the Lake Michigan coast, with evocative illustrations by Meridith Ridl, this charming tale resonates with themes of friendship, redemption, and life-giving water. The reading will take place at the Empire Township Hall, across the street from the library.
